Day 3: Melnik, Rozhen Monastery , Rila Monastery , Plovdiv

Morning.- Departure to Melnik, the smallest and one of the most colourful towns in the country, proclaimed town-museum, where also located is, curiously , the biggest Renaissance house of the Balkan Peninsula. The town is very famous for its wines and atmosphere. Visit to the Rozhen Monastery, a very important cultural heritage that dates from the 8th century and harboured important Bulgarian revolutionaries from the Turkish domination period.
Afternoon.- Departure to the Rila Monastery, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit to the biggest and most outstanding Bulgarian monastery, with architecture from the 10th century, precious natural environment and enormous cultural and artistic richness expressed through the frescos, carvings in wood, iconostases, liturgical objects, silver work, weapons, relics which played a role through the centuries for the preservation of the national culture and spirit. Departure to the town of Plovdiv.
Night.- Accommodation arrival, overnight in Plovdiv.
